  1. I'm just kind of curious why no one has really mentioned the crazy times in Japan recently, amongst them:

Recently retired Yuta Suenaga 59.93 in 100m breast, 2:10.28 in the 200 version.

    59.91, 100mback for terakawa

...and most interestingly a 1 55.39 by Haruka Ueda in the 200m freestyle, which I believe is a textile best!

  2. I think the Ueda time is wrong, maybe SC for that one, Terakawa & Suenaga would not be too surprising at this stage though.
Her JPN record is 1.57.6s so i doubt she has dropped that much.

  3. I'm trying to find out where that Ueda time came from. If it is a long-course time it would be spectacular. 6th all-time.

My initial thought was also that its a SC time. At SC Nationals last week she swam 1:58.52.

Times like these I wish I could speak Japanese. Will keep you updated on what I find.

  4. I think it is an error on Swimnews website, she swam a LC 55.39 and i think they have listed it as a 55.39 100FR and a 1.55.39 200FR.

  5. That has to be the answer.

FINA also don't have the swim on their rankings (although that's hardly saying much)

  6. oh that's a good point i didnt notice the 55.39. I've been jotting down my own times/places prediction for this summer, and 1 55.3 at this point was very eyeopening
